GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TRAINING COURSES OUTSIDE JAA TO PREMISES  

I.        Definitions

Certificates: Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Accomplishment, Certificate of Achievement

  • Certificate of Attendance: a JAA TO/ECAC Certificate issued for Participants following their full attendance to, and payment for, a Training Course whereby Participants are not required, or have not opted, to sit for a JAA TO Examination; and a JAA TO/ECAC Certificate issued for Participants who fail to pass the JAA TO Examination (where aplicable, opted and paid for) within the maximum number of allowed attempts.
  • Certificate of Accomplishment: a JAA TO/ECAC Certificate issued for Participants following their full attendance to, and payment for, a Training Course and passing of the JAA TO Examination where applicable, opted and paid for.
  • Certificate of Achievement: an EASA Certificate issued for Participants who have passed and paid for the EASA e-Examination. EASA e-Examinations can not be offered outside JAA TO premises.

 Expenses: costs incurred by the provision of the training course, as listed in clause VII.2.

 Instructor: a trainer contracted by JAA TO or by any of its Partner Organisations, and provided by JAA TO for the delivery of the requested training course.

 JAA TO: Joint Aviation Authorities Training Organisation

 JAA TO website: www.jaato.com

 Participants: persons attending the requested training course.

 Partner Organisation: organisations with which JAA TO has an agreement for cooperation in the provision of training services.

 Requesting Party: the person or organisation representative requesting training courses to be delivered outside JAA TO premises.

 Training Course Materials: includes any and all materials that contain the content delivered during the Training Courses.

 

II.        Training Courses

 All training courses listed in the JAA TO website may be delivered outside JAA TO premises, upon request and upon signature of an agreement between JAA TO and the Requesting Party.

  

III.        Training Course language, translation of Training Course Materials 

  1. Training courses are delivered in English. In the event interpretation is needed, the Requesting Party shall make the necessary arrangements in consultation with JAA TO or may request JAA TO to arrange interpretation.
  2. Translation of the Training Course Materials shall be requested from JAA TO and JAA TO will arrange translation.

 

IV.        Participants 

  1. JAA TO may set a limit on the maximum number of Participants.
  2. The Requesting Party shall ensure that all Participants meet the pre-requisites for the requested training course, if any, as defined on the JAA TO website under the respective training course description.

 

V.        Training Facilities

1. The Requesting Party shall ensure that the training facilities have suitable temperature and sufficient ventilation and lighting. The classroom shall be equipped with:

-          marker board or flip charts, including writing implements;

-          laptop or desktop with beamer/projector and screen;

-          teaching space with desks/writing surfaces;

-          adequate restroom facilities.

2. The Requesting Party shall provide Internet access (preferably wireless) to the laptop or desktop used by the Instructor at the training facilities during training hours.

3. The Requesting Party shall ensure that an assistant is present during training hours.

 

VI.        Delivery of Training Course Materials

The Requesting Party shall choose one of the following delivery options:

A)   JAA TO shall arrange the delivery of the Training Course Materials to the location of the training course and shall send an invoice to Client;

or

B)   The Requesting Party shall provide JAA TO with its international account number with DHL, TNT, UPS or Fedex and with the address to where Training Course Materials shall be delivered. JAA TO shall arrange delivery and Client shall pay directly to the shipping company;

or

C)   The Requesting Party shall arrange pick-up of the Training Course Materials from JAA TO premises in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands and delivery to the location of the training course, at its own cost.

 

VII.        Price and Expenses 

  1. A Price including the tuition fee, the costs of preparation and (where applicable) translation of the Training Course Materials, interpretation (where applicable) and Certificates of attendance shall be paid by the Requesting Party. Examinations (where applicable) shall be requested and paid for separately per participant.
  2. The Requesting Party shall bear the following Expenses:
    • transportation of the Instructor (i.e.: return flight tickets and local transportation to/from the airport/hotel/training facilities);
    • accommodation and lunch for the Instructor;
    • delivery of the Training Course Materials.
  3. If requested, JAA TO may offer a price including the Expenses or any elements of the Expenses.

 

VIII.        Payment

Payment shall be made in accordance with the agreement concluded between JAA TO and the Requesting Party.

 

IX.        Requests 

  1. Requests for delivery of training courses outside JAA TO premises shall be sent to training@jaato.com or via the online form available at https://jaato.com/trainingoutside/.
  2.  The request should contain the following information:

a)    name of the Requesting Party;

b)    name of the training course requested;

c)    location where the training course is requested to be delivered;

d)    preferred date of the training course;

e)    indication if interpretation is required, and to which languages;

f)    indication if translation of the Training Course Materials is required, and to which language;

g)    expected number of participants;

h)    name of the organisation(s) employing the Participants;

i)     preferred method of shipment of the Training Course Materials;

j)     if the Requesting Party arranges hotel accommodation for the Instructor;

k)    if the Requesting Party makes flight arrangements for the Instructor;

l)     if the Requesting Party would prefer paying for the Expenses or any elements of the Expenses separately or if the Price offered by JAA TO should include the Expenses or any elements of the Expenses.

3. In case the request does not contain the above details, the missing details shall be submitted to JAA TO upon its request.

4. Requests shall be submitted as early as possible to facilitate the organisation of the training course.

5. After receipt of the request, JAA TO will send a quote to the Requesting Party.

 

X.        Certificates 

  1. JAA TO / ECAC certificates of Attendance and Accomplishment are highly recognised by Aviation Authorities and Aviation Industry. Participants will be granted a Certificate of Attendance when the course has been attended and paid in full, and a Certificate of Accomplishment, when the participant has opted to take, paid for, and passed, a JAA TO Examination (where applicable) within the maximum number of allowed attempts.
  2. In the event the Participant’s Certificate is lost, or an additional copy is required, a hard copy of the Certificate can be requested from JAA TO via training@jaato.com. Participants will be provided with the copy upon JAA TO’s receipt of 20 EUR administration fee.

 

XI.        Examinations

If applicable, examination fees shall be paid for separately.

  • EASA e-Examination: EASA e-Examinations can not be offered outside JAA TO premises.
  • JAA TO Examination is developed and evaluated by JAA TO, provided online or on paper, at the end of applicable JAA TO courses. JAA TO Examinations are optional and subject to payment and online registration. A maximum number of two attempts is allowed for a JAA TO Examination. If failing the first attempt, each candidate is allowed one re-sit (subject to payment), which must occur within one year of the original course. If failing the re-sit exam, the candidate is required to take the entire applicable course again before taking the exam for the third attempt. Unless otherwise indicated in the registration confirmation e-mail and announced by the Exam Supervisor beforehand – the pass-mark is 65% and the maximum time limit per JAA TO exam is 45 minutes. Candidates who pass a JAA TO Examination receive a JAA TO/ECAC Certificate of Accomplishment. Note: after a candidate has taken an examination, the score will be informed. However, the questions - which are fully copyrighted by JAA TO - will not be made available to the candidates.
